VICE PRESIDENT FOR RESEARCH NATIVE OUTREACH COLLABORATIVE

The Vice President for Research Native Outreach Collaborative Committee was organized and convened by the Vice President for Research at the beginning of the 2004-2005 academic year. The Committee is comprised of representatives from over a dozen University of Arizona campus units engaged in teaching, research and outreach activities relating to or directly benefiting Indian tribes and Native peoples in Arizona, the United States and throughout the world. The goal of the VPR in establishing the Committee is to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and communication between UA Indian academic programs that either report directly to or receive various forms of programmatic support for the Office of the VPR. By encouraging theme-based strategic planning and cooperation between UA Indian programs, the Native Outreach Collaborative is tasked with assisting the office of the VPR in its broader mission of university-wide advocacy for Indian-related research, scholarship and creative endeavor.
