Research Summary: Continuing proposal: This is a proposal to conduct research for and provide technical assistance to the Southern Paiute Consortium (SPC). The SPC is collecting information and participating in decisions that influence the condition and use of traditional cultural resources located along the Colorado River Corridor. The SPC has received funds to conduct research and monitoring as part of the Adaptive Management Program regarding the effects of the dam on those cultural resources. The UA work for 2009-2010 cultural resources monitoring and education program will build upon the research and monitoring that has taken place since 1995, which consists of three primary tasks (1) technical support for reviewing documents and work with the Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG), Technical Work Group (TWG), Cultural Resources Ad Hoc Group (CRAHG) and other committees and workgroups established by the AMWG, the TWG, and the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (GCMRC); (2) coordinate monitoring and education program development and implementation; and (3) annual report write up.
